Single Trip European Breakdown Cover

This is the right breakdown cover for you if you’re just travelling abroad as a one-off. Your cover will only be live for the duration of your trip and can only be covered for a maximum of 90 days, so if your trip lasts longer than that then you’ll need annual cover instead.

Annual European Breakdown Cover

If you think you’ll be travelling abroad more than once or twice a year, then you’ll likely be saving money with annual European breakdown cover.

If you’re waiting around for your vehicle to be fixed, our European policy will reimburse you the cost of onward public or private transport to your desired destination, making sure your holiday continues even if your car can’t.

Hire Car Cover

Another helpful aspect of our European breakdown cover is the option of a hire a car to continue your journey. Our policies will reimburse you up to £750 for this, so even though your car may be stuck in a garage, and if you need to get to your destination, you can still keep your holiday moving.

Alternative Accommodation

Sometimes it can take longer than usual to fix your car, especially if the necessary part isn’t immediately available. If this is the case, then the cost of overnight accommodation will be reimbursed to you up to £75 per passenger.

Repatriation

If your vehicle is unable to be fixed at a garage, then in extreme circumstances during a claim, you will be offered vehicle repatriation as an option. This means transporting your vehicle back home so it can be fixed in the UK. The costs incurred in transporting your vehicle home will be reimbursed to you should it come to this.

Motorway Fees

If you breakdown on certain European motorways or major public roads, you will often need to obtain assistance via the SOS phones. The local services will tow you to a place of safety. The downside to this is that you will have to pay them for this immediately. But not to worry, our European breakdown policies reimburse you up to £150 for this, meaning you won’t be out of pocket. What do I do if I Breakdown in Europe?

Wherever it happens, breaking down abroad is far from an ideal scenario. Just remember that help is at hand.

As we use different insurance partners, it’s important you know which provider you have for your policy. You can check this on your certificate of insurance. Once you know your assistance provider, you can phone their breakdown assistance number and they’ll talk you through the rest.
